Youth Media and Education

 

- Instructing two CAP Cohort classes in the University of Delaware’s English Language Institute.

- Instructed the video production courses for over a hundred students at Delaware's juvenile justice facilities.

- Promoted from counselor to mentor supervisor and trainer for the Media Mentors Summer Camp.

- Redesigned the video production curriculum from an elective free period into a professional training course with a system to track and measure indicators and outcomes.

- Created engaging lessons plans to establish structure and discipline that was lacking in the classroom.

- Implemented programming and built relationships with state administrators which facilitated my organization attaining a competitive grant for our expanding services.

- Devised a classroom presentation that won my organization an $18,000 equipment grant and updated old Macintosh equipment.

 

Video Production

 

- Developed story and edited documentary about Geraldo Rivera’s career for JFS’s Reel Talk fundraiser.

- Managed and loaned out equipment for patrons at the University of Delaware’s Student Multimedia Design Center.

- Arranged interviews and managed interns for the street crime documentary, The People’s Report.

- Facilitated post­​production for ContentDelaware.org by analyzing footage and creating story reports.

 

Case Management for At-​­Risk Youth

 

- Managed a caseload of up to 38 adjudicated youth as a part of Child Inc.’s AmeriCorps fellowship team.

- Designed reports to to indicate monthly outcomes for classes and individual classes.

- Arranged community service activities and brokered resources to help 85% of clients complete their probation terms.

- Monitored client accountability with daily face­​to­​face contact and provided 24​hour crisis intervention services.

- Coordinated educational support by advocating for clients with school administrators and faculty.

- Provided academic advising and college preparatory programming for Delaware Futures’ junior class.
